Angela Bassett was superb.Laurence Fishburne was off the hook as Ike.

Absolute daylight robbery that Angela Bassett didn't win Best Actresss for a role that I can only describe as EXCELLENT and well played. This film is brilliant. I was never really a fan of Tina Turner, but somehow this film makes you look at Tina not only as an entertainer, but an outstanding woman who persevered despite all the odds at the hands of an abusive husband and an absent father and distant mother. I never see Tina Turner go on talk shows and play the martyr like I do most celebrities today and if anything she has a lot more to say than most of them about her time with Ike, but somehow never does. I would definitely recommend people to see this film.

The movie could have used a more nuanced hand with the editing but Angela Bassett is outstanding.
