Wonderful drug. Took it postpartum after I stopped nursing. Worked like a miracle after about 28 days of starting it. Initially there were too many side effects. Constant stomach upset, bloating etc. but gradually most side effects went away. One nasty side effect that remained was insomnia. I would be up until 3:00 a.m. daily and I would feel very drowsy in the afternoons-- this was despite taking the pill early in the morning (8:00 a.m.)

Lexapro works well for me but doesn't take care of all my issues. (I sound like a commerical). But it is true. However, recently I was diagnosed with more than just depression. If this medication isn't treating all your symptoms, don't suffer. Go talk to a Dr. and let them know your not feeling better. I did and am so glad that I did. I have't found quite the right additional medication, but my Dr. and I are working on it. But most importantly, I found out it wasn't just in my head. It was a chemical disorder that can be fixed so I don't have to be miserable.

I really dislike it. I took it for several months and I did experience side effects. Drowsiness, dry mouth, low sex drive, dizziness, loss of sleep, and weight loss due to not wanting to eat. Yeah, it sounds great to lose weight, but I got so naseauted when I had to force myself to eat that I just stopped eating and that caused me even more dizziness. It did somewhat help put my moods in order.

I have been on many different antidepressants and this is the only successful one. It is chemically the effective half of Celexa. No side effects either, I am quite happy with it.
