Cipralex has helped me a lot. Started 29 Nov 2005 and after only few days taking 10mg per day I felt better but not great; the depression feeling in the forehead and the crying attacks disappeared totally which was fantastic. However after six weeks I started to feel down again with new crying attacks so I doubled to 20mg which immediately helped. After 30 days I reduced to 15 mg per day for 30 days and today 31 March 2006 I am on 10mg again and feeling quite well. One major drawback: extreme tiredness for about 1-2 hours after waking up in the morning even though I sleep 8 to 10 hours per night. Lots of coffe helps and anything with coffein. A nap in the afternoon is necessary also. I run about 12km per day which is great. From 5 PM until bedtime I am just very normal. I intend to continue with cipralex until late July even though I have today no depression symptoms; I am scared if I stop now the depressin might come back. However, every day will be a challenge to cope with the tiredness and yawnings.

It's alright for lesser depression, even quite good. But I have major depression, and when the pressure rose while on this medication (quite a high dose), everything fell apart. Use something stronger if you've got major depression.
