I really enjoyed his humor in movies and I actually didn't mind his crass stand-up routine. As an Actor he took on a very controversial role in The Toy (1982). As an entertainer he liked to push the envelope when it came to what was socially acceptable. Listen to his stand-up and you will know what I am talking about.W

The man who went beyond comedy. I loved every movie he has made especially "Brewster Millions". I have a few signed photos and came to be good friends with his daughter, Rain. She has a nice tribute to her dad at ther website. "Rain Pryor" in google.

Yes, he was funny sometimes, but I can do without this freebasing junkie.

Richard Pryor died today at age 65 of a heart attack. I think the public was aware the Pryor was not in good health, and his passing does not come as a surprise. He was a public figure who attracted a lot of attention with his groundbreaking style of humor. Through his comedy he did a lot of work in bringing black style and culture into mainstream American society. He will be missed by many, especially those in the comedy and entertainment industries.
