I would change the world to accept me as world-dominator

I know about a man who resolved to change the world and succeeded. Posterity accused him of messing things up along with making remarkable achievements. Seems no one can tell if the world was better or worse after the changes he effected.

Since I know his story I have a very strong suspicion that even huge impacts on complex systems (like the world) do not effect more than slight changes to the better or worse.

So why rack my brain about changes of the world. I'd rather change my appartment, which is a little system that can be easily ruled and improved. Time to get away from RIA and tidy up.

I would erase most of Eric Clapton's post 1970 career, including the lame hit he had a few years ago with this title... he wasn't always so dull.

I'd put Co-operation and harmony WAY ahead of competition.

Withdraw those troops from Iraq, send them home to their families. Kick Tony Blair and Bush out of office and replace them both with someone with a little more sense. Build homes for those living in shacks in third-world countries so they can at least have some decent form of shelter.

The world is changing all the time. It'd be really hard to keep up with it.

What if I could change the world? Well if I could, I wouldn't, it works. There are natural checks and balances, things like intellegence, free will and mortality. Is it called entropy? While some win - some loose; some benefit - some suffer, as a total, we survive and arguably thrive. And when we go too far toward an extreme, something happens to balance the system. Ultimately the planet will probably decide it will be better off without humans and we will die off, but something will take our place. Just ask T-Rex.

Pertaining to Mr. Russo's comment below, I'd have to call it the polar opposite of "crazy" thought; in fact, he's sanely lit upon THE stumbling block of our times (and of times past). The planet spirals down into a stall while its most-capable inhabitants continue arguing over the length and coarseness of invisible beards. Those with rational agendas will keep working towards ways of leaving this burned-out husk behind, to better infest other worlds and start the "skimming" process anew. My only hope is that theistic foolishness can be held in check long enough for science to put together what's needed for a serious stab at humankind's desire for terrestrial continuity. That being said.....for me, it's not a fanciful question of "WHAT if I could", but "whether I WILL". WILL I openly and honestly inquire as to status-quo "beliefs" and the childish competitions they breed? WILL I marshal my intellect and channel what resources I can into a future of OUR making (rather than rank-and-file servitude within the dreamworks of something else)? WILL I, in essence, change the course of things to come? Many a jarring shove will be called for, but THAT'S where the true challenge resides, and that's what I'm determined to be a part of.

If I could change the world, more reviewers here would finally get the counseling they so badly need. (I won't name names)

Plan 1: I would create a race (or several, depends on my mood) of xenomorphs (aliens) and I would have them warn the Earth of it's wicked ways of religious practices and evangelism--and explain to them that they have no clue what "God" really is--so they should just stop their fighting over it before it goes to far. The fact that they are aliens would separate them enough from all Human view of religion, and might even scare them enough to rethink their "religious" views... However, if this failed, and the Humans were so ignorant that they thought eliminating the existence or evidence would solve the issue of such other races' existence threatening their creation of their man-made religions, plan 2 would be put into place... Plan 2: Had they chosen not to listen, I would slowly put a plan into a place to save what is left of humanity after the last heated argument, and prepare those humans to move to their next level of existence for those who are left when the smoke clears. Just a crazy thought. Sincerely, Mathew

It would be so dull to be surrounded by a bunch of grinning bobbleheads who agreed with me on everything.
