I liked it but it is overworked and overused. I now find it tiresome.

Actually, I'd give this a 4.5; it's an awesome hymn of salvation. My dad, on the other hand, doesn't like hearing it anymore because it's been overplayed at funerals.

Old song, but the words still remain the same. God's amazing grace was when He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for all of our sins.

I am not very good at knowing the hymns. Amazing Grace is a beautiful one.I like the lyrics. when sung by someone with a good voice it is really nice.

Being of standard meter, you can sing the lyrics to many other songs, such as the theme for Gilligan's Island, or I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.

The last verse is my favorite. It's such a beautiful song, and the lyrics have so much meaning.

A favorite song of mine, that I came to find was my grandmother's favorite as well. She specifically requested we play "Amazing Grace" at her funeral, and we did. Later, when we dividing her knack-knacks among family members, I came across an item of hers that was like a music box, and played this song when you wound it up. I keep this memento beside my couch in my living room as a way to remind me of her. I hope "Amazing Grace" plays at my funeral, too.

This is a hymn I've always enjoyed, but now it has even greater significance than ever before -- because it was my mother's favorite! And, no wonder! Because it was by God's amazing grace that I am saved! Amen!

Way over played if you ever see a piper there is a good chance you will hear this.

A wonderful classic Christian hymn written by John Newton in 1779, John Newton turned his back on Christ 8 times before finally deciding to give his life completely to the Lord. On that 9th time of asking Christ into his heart again and asking him to forgive him again he realized that his life was nothing without Christ in his life. God loves us so much that he gave his only Son; he is patiently waiting for us to decide whether or not we want to accept his Son as our savior. We don't have to but life is so much better if we do. Then to die without Christ is total darkness, pain and sorrow this world has never known. God wants NO ONE to be lost.

I've often been accused of being a bit of a "devils advocate" and my Christian values could be best described as "suspect"... But I must say that nothing warms my heart more than hearing this gem being properly performed by a trained vocalist of the female persuasion. It must be my Baptist upbringing, because I really dig this tune - I have a burned CD with 14 versions on it from Mahalia Jacksons' to Aaron Nevilles' and everyone else in between, but Charlotte Churchs' rendition still remains my favorite.
