A fine old traditional song of the early church, particularly useful in scaring off the heathen. Quite beautiful, depite its rather gory sentiments.

A hymn of the early church and still sung today for glorious occasions. It starts "Te Deum laudamus" meaning "to God, we praise." It was often sung at Te Deum masses and celebrations to commemorate great victories over the heathen. The text has been set to music by many classical composers, with settings by Bruckner, Berlioz, Dvorák, Haydn, and Mozart among the better-known. Sir William Walton's Coronation Te Deum was written and performed as late as 1953 for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
