Movie was good, but the book was such a classic there's no way the film could do it justice. When London visited a university some lit professors tried to explain to him the allegorical nature of his story, that it's about the transcendence of the human spirit notwithstanding the nature suppressive nature of society and social expectations. He responded, "actually, it's a story I wrote about a dog."
