Lionel Richie (solo) 2

He was certainly the biggest-selling artist of my childhood in the middle 1980s - that could easily get him in even without his former band the Commodores having a chance. Moreover, his music is scarcely so bad as to deserve a place in the "50 Worst Songs", even if "Dancing On The Ceiling", his last successful solo hit, really is absurd. There is nothing on his solo albums that one cannot hear elsewhere, and his solo career, though prolific and amazingly successful, faded in a way quite unparalleled for a rich entertainer. So, one cannt think there is any reason for Lionel to get in even if he might because of the power of those in the record business who reaped money from him.
