 | abichara (60) 09/08/2004 | Although SC is a state where there have been significant job losses, especially in manufacturing, expect Bush to win in this state. Kerry hasn't done a good enough job in downplaying social issues and focusing in on economic and foreign policy questions. If the election were based on that, expect a Democratic showing. But this election, especially in the South and in the Midwest seems to be predicated on social matters like gay rights, religious issues, and abortion.

 | Redoedo (39) 08/14/2004 | Bush won South Carolina by sixteen percentage points in 2000, and despite South Carolina native John Edwards on the Kerry ticket, it is likely that Bush will carry South Carolina again this year. Edwards may help shrink Bush's margin of victory, but this largely conservative state is most likely going to be in Bush's corner in November.
