Theoretically, the two of them add up to all there is. It's a representation of balance between opposites and extremes. For the most part, I appreciate the idea of balance between two opposites, completing the whole. But there are many things where black and white arent the only choices that exist, choices that arent purely one nor the other, or even completely different than the two established extremes.
