Apparently before we had Will Ferrell in "Blades of Glory" there was Frick and Frack.

Two Swiss guys in lederhosen whose synchronized skating was so impressive, their names became synonymous with any indistinguisable pairs.

To think I thought they were an unsuccessful third party presidential ticket from 1988...

Frick and Frack were two Swiss ice skaters who came to America in the early 20th Century and skated in lederhosen with a great act. So good were they and moved together so well, that their act came into the English Language as two who move together so smoothly that they are indistinguishable.
