Unfortunately (and predictably) this one wasn't a success at the box office, I don't think, but I still catch it every time I can when its re-run on cable. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is ok, and Keith David is, as always, great. At times, it's over the top, even ridiculous, but what can you say about an action-packed cinematic comic-book that entertains and also manages to convey a significant social message at the same time?

The redhead chick's greenish, glassy, eyes kinda freak me out, though they are very rare and unusual, you seldom see eyes like that! Good film.

 | Drummond (53) 12/19/2005 | I loved this one. It was sort of a spoof on all the 1950s science fiction movies that were metaphors of communism and the Soviet Union. This one suggests that if aliens were to take over the earth, they'd probably be more like western neo-colonialists, using subliminal images in advertising to manufacture consent. Roddy Piper made a good left wing Rambo, though there was a pointless 10 minute fight scene with his buddy that was obviously intended to utilize his professional wrestling talents.

"I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass,...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
