"English horn" is "cor anglais", but you've enlightened me that it could have been "cor anglé" originally. Strangely, according to Wikipedia, the French horn really is of French origin, though it only acquired the name when it was refined and improved in England. But seeing "cor anglais" and "French horn" makes me think that, conversely, they ought to say "Je joue du French horn"....

It is said that the wind instrument that, in French, goes by the name 'cor anglé' (meaning 'angled horn') mistakenly became known less under its properly translated term than under a hastily interpreted one.
