Here's what I think. I'm really not into any of these things, but if I had to choose, it probably would be Star Trek, and I'm talking the classic series.

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the twilight zone.
Presented for your consideration, irishgit, a feckless reviewer seeking only to entertain himself. But today, when he logs on to RIA, things will be different. Gone are the familiar lists, the known reviewers, the pithy comments. Today are only listings upon listings by religious fundamentalists, dog food aficionados, smokeless tobacco raconteurs, and Van Halen fans. Puzzled, irishgit attempts to move on, but to his increasing dismay he cannot, and his fingers move against his will, rating bible verses and Ol' Roy....
He doesn't know it yet, but he has entered.........The Twilight Zone.

I do like Buffy and The Twilight Zone was cool, but I have to go Star Trek.

It has to be Twilight Zone for me. I didn't watch enough X-Files to qualify an opinion. I only liked Star Trek: TNG, and I didn't start liking Buffy until after the series ended and there was nothing else on, so I watched out of boredom. I have always enjoyed Twilight Zone.

Twilight Zone.

Twighlight Zone was probably a one of a kind television experience, a writers anthology served up for a weekly TV audience, freed of the requirements to fit into any kind of formula, setting or cast of recurring characters. Not everything was five stars, but even when they missed the mark, they were noble in their attempt to give the viewer a fresh and provocative experience. After almost 50 years the show still makes for great watching. None of the others on the list are in the same class.

At any time before this, I would have said that Star Trek has an overwhelming advantage, but recently I've become acquainted with the brilliant yet often so cruel Twilight Zone. I'm going to have to say it's a tie.
numbah16tdhaha 02/25/2007
I choose none as a Star Wars series is in the works.
GenghisTheHun 02/25/2007
Choose one? O.k., I choose the X-Files. I admit every other episode didn't deal with the conspiracy, but that only intensified the suspense.
BlueOrchid 11/22/2006
Definitely Star Trek.
PlanetaryGear 01/08/2006
Definitely the Twilight Zone, no one has come close in matching the level of groundbreaking surrealism and creativity that the show offered - I liked the fact that the centerpoint in every episode was always the same: The vulnerable and irrational human mind. . .
Mad Hatter 12/22/2005
The "classic" Twilight Zone. They have had a bit of influence on my writings as of late.
Djahuti 12/22/2005
Tie between Twilight Zone (the old one) and X-Files.
Wavebacker 12/21/2005
Star Trek has got to be the greatest Sci-Fi series ever. The rest just dont compare.
ClassicTVFan47 12/21/2005
Star Trek. Truly an incredible television legacy spanning over 500 episodes and 10 films.
Molfan 12/21/2005
I do not watch a lot of science fiction but would have take Twilight Zone. those old repeats still hold up today. there are some true classic episodes on that show written by some talented writers.
kamylienne 12/21/2005
X-Files, first season. I haven't watched enough of the others, though, to truly make an informed choice.
zuchinibut 12/21/2005
I'm not a big fan of science fiction, but I do have to admit that there was a period of timing were I was committed to watching the X Files. I have no interest in the other options at all.
SZinHonshu 12/21/2005
Gotta take the Twilight Zone. Although it is a tight race if Star Trek ONLY encompasses the original Star Trek. Both were very imaginative and revolutionary for their day. The other two are Clinton Administration era garbage.

Frogio...a quiet, yet forboding type innocently surfed the internet one late night. He entered the RIA webpage. Tempted, he introduced his first post.... Thus began a macabre jouney into the minds, and reasonings of thousands of entities. Little did he know...he had entered the Twilight Zone...
oscargamblesfr o 12/21/2005
Twilight Zone is the most interesting and revolutionary of the 4, then Star Trek. X-Files was ok, the other show is moronic IMO. I'll go with Twilight Zone.
Flick01 12/21/2005
Twilight Zone, original series. More often than not its stories were about the here and now. When it addressed things that "could be" it seemed to be a possibility, just barely beyond our grasp.
Drummond 12/21/2005
Star Trek. Buffy is fun, but not that interesting after awhile. X Files started off good, but went into a weird place where everything was dark. Twilight Zone is good, just not as good as Star Trek.
