Bush Signs Stem Cell Therapeutic and Research Act 4

FINALLY!! After all these years, Unca George (sorta) does something most people can point to with some pride. Hung up too long in channels due to common-sense riders he'd threatened to veto (ever the cautious pheasant, that "doubleya"), George II was still able to wipe enough crap out of his eyes to sign H.R. 2520, which looks to have around 150,000 cord blood units in place (with 90% of patients needing a match able to find one). The $79 million dollars in federal funding was a miserly start, but a start nonetheless (I'd complained about this in a previous post). Government'll have to play "catch-up" to private biopharma, but every little bit helps. A gentle round of applause may commence forthwith.
