I "missed" this flick, and nearly every movie made after 1960, with the exception of films by John Waters, Pedro Almodovar, Federico Fellini, Alexandro Jodorowsky, Jim Jarmusch and Luchino Visconti.I've seen clips of others, and don't think I've suffered much by avoiding Hollywood "culture".I did take Cadillac Records out of the library, and found it entertaining, though riddled with hysterical[sic] inaccuracies.

I finally saw this movie realizing that I had missed it before. It turns out that I didn't really miss that much. Uma Thurman is ok, she is not really miscast that much. The book was great and funny. Unfortunately, the movie is not that much. Things that can seem funny in the book do not come off that way. I had also then seen that Keanu Reeves was playing the Mohawk guy. He did not do much in the movie. In the book they were married and I don't think I just missed it unless that was edited out. A lot was taken out. It would be hard to put it on film. Doing their hair is important. They tried to go for the natural look but it wasn't good. They concentrated a lot on the ranch and a gay affair with her. It just did not come out right. All of the fun in the book was mostly left out. Her freedom and fun she was having on the road did not come out. It was a bit outdated and not coming off right.

This is the worst one I can recall from the 90s and I saw a lot of movies then. It tries to be funny and is irritating. It tries to be intelligent and is stupid. And it tries to be original and, surprise, it is! Original garbage. Unless you are into movie masochism don't even bother watching it to verify my comments. There's no reason both of us should suffer.
