A highly distinctive windup, similar to that later used by Hideo Nomo, but incorporating drastic changes of rythym, and a range of arm angles.

For all of his histrionics, he accomplished one key thing - ensuring an unsteady pace to his pitching. He was a master of throwing batters timing off, sometimes he'd linger between pitches sometimes he'd almost rush to throw the next.
