I've always thought the way Glavine throws across his body and steps slightly towards first took away from his velocity. Of course he was successful without that overwhelming power and made up for it with pinpoint accuracy, but his style always looked uncomfortable and inefficient.

A lefty with a smooth delivery that is effective. Glavine looks effortless as he reaches back and then unwinds. He's a masterful pitcher who seems to hide the ball release from his hand until the last minute. He, like Maddux, has been extremely effective with his pitching style.
