Great invention. How else would complete morons dry their cat after a bath?

This is clearly a product that we cannot live without. If you live in a small apartment or condo, using a microwave to cook food might be an easier option than waiting for your oven to heat up, and then wait for the food to cook. Its uses are endless, and it’s a must have in every home.

A invention worth thanking for. Many lazy people would starve without it.

As the rating says, can't live without it. I think next to the toilet, the microwave is the one thing I use everyday.

It's a microwave. It's a toaster oven. If you like either one of them then already you have yourself a great product! The only problem I've had with one of these is that it takes a while for the oven component to cool off which means you have to wait a while before using the microwave component immediately after.

While the microwave as ruined any of us learning how to truly cook, lol. It makes life a little bit simpler, though less tasty.

I could get by without a microwave, but it would be a pain. I don't really use a microwave for cooking, but it's great for defrosting things, as well as for heating up leftovers. Without a microwave, you'd have to plan meals at least a day in advance to make sure things were defrosted. With a microwave, you can look in the freezer, pull out some meat, throw it in the microwave, and within 10 minutes it's defrosted and ready to cook.

I can't imagine in this day in age someone not having a microwave. Not too long back, mine had broken, and I was out of one for a little while until a purchased another one, and it was then that I realized how much I really used my microwave.

Helpful invention, but not entirely life-changing if you know how to cook. I suppose it helps me thaw stuff, so props for that.

Microwaves are pretty cool but I can't shake the feeling that they are doing weird things to your insides whenever you stand in front of them while they're on.

Microwaves are pretty amazing. However, while they are a nice convenience they aren't terribly important. My family and I haven't owned one since we moved into our home two years ago, and its not that big of a deal to be without one.

A remarkable device that never ceases to boggle my mind. If I'd been alive 50 years ago and someone had told me that a device would be produced that could cook anything by sending an electrical discharge through it, I wouldn't have believed it. By contrast, the acceleration of the means of communication is a more predictable sort of invention, whether it's the telephone or internet. Microwaves have certainly saved me on many a night when time was tight.
