 | Wavebacker (25) 01/04/2006 | The genre that is Reality TV is good when done right, but is bad now because it's been overdone. There is something compelling about watching ordinary people just being themselves, but the genre has been exploited to the point of being unwatchable. Worse, it has made stars of the very subjects we watch. It's also become a worldwide phenomenon. There have been US Reality shows based on more successful European shows. Overall I wish we could keep the good, like The People's Court, America's Most Wanted, The Apprentice and that small handful of good shows, but there are too many bad ones to justify the whole thing.
