She might have been one to bring performance art to the masses, but she did little that could justify her being in the Rock Hall.

Usually though of as a Performance Artist first, Anderson should be considered based on the quality of the album "Strange Angels." which is her most musical and most accessible work.  It is uplifting at times, and at other times, it is pure fun.  As for her other work, "Big Science" and "Sharkey's Day" stand out for me.

First off - if it actually matters - she isn't even rock 'n' roll. Anderson's a classically trained, avant-garde intellectual, minimalist composer/performance artist and violinist. Her trademark underground "hit" - 1981's "O Superman" - is not exactly headbanger material. Though her social commentatory is frequently thought-provoking and her musical approach stimulating, few would seriously consider her for placement in the the Hall of Fame.

A bit too offbeat for my tastes. "O Superman" is a borefest.
