I always thought he was handsome, but then I always liked the tall slender type. When he played a cowboy role, he looked his best as far as I'm concerned. He also had pretty blue eyes and just always seemed to be kind, even when he played a tough guy. Anyway, he was one of the best actors ever because he was equally good in any part he played-cowboy, romantic lead, comedy, war movie etc.

I loved him but never thought of him as a hunk at all. He reminded me too much of one of my grandfathers.

He wasn't technically handsome but I loved his voice and he came across as a likable and decent Everyman.

I always thought he was really handsome especially when I watched It's A Wonderful Life. He was just a decent looking, handsome guy that was a great actor.
