Anyone who drafts Bush better have a tough yard back. USC sent in LenDale White in for the short yardage, not Bush. It raises the question on the toughness of Bush if he can't get those last 2 yards.

Dumb. USC doesnt need Bush to get the tough , one yard gains, that's not Bush. Reggie Bush is an all-purpose runner. He runs, returns kicks and punts. Reggie Bush is a PLAYMAKER. Playmakers make plays happen, they dont always need to get the tough yards. Bush comes up big though so you could say he does get the "tough yards" when his team needs a play.

Who got the carry in short yardage? LenDale White, and not the Heisman winner. That raises two questions, that of reliability in all situations (an important factor in how good your halfback really is) and of durability (did they know of a weakness that USC needed to protect). An every-down back's numbers show a true picture of their ability, and not the skewed numbers of someone who never had to gain a tough yard the whole season. I value a back who can put their head down and grab that one or two yard gain on third and short when the D stacks 8 men in the box. I never saw that fromn Reggie Bush, and that makes me question his true ability.

Bush is one of the best backs coming out of college in a decade. Sorry Numbah, this guy is the real deal and you'll see when he's breaking loose in the NFL.

White got the ball on the tough ones and everyone knows it. That's why Heisman Trophy boy was on the sideline for that 4th and two they didn't make.
