It's hard to say that the Pac-10 is overrated because it still doesn't get enough national attention. Look at many of the big-time NFL QBs, and you'll see that a large number hail from the Pac-10. Even Kyle Boller is a starter, for chrissake. That said, the Pac-10 is not the best conference in college football (is it the SEC, maybe)? On balance, it's hard to argue that USC is a "myth" when it has two recent championships to its credit.

Pac-10 was 3-2 in Bowls. Big XII was 5-3. The Pac-10 has some quality teams and going undefeated in any league is an accomplishment. USC nearly won this Championship game and they didnt lose because the Pac-10 is overrated. If anything it was their ability to get thru an "easy, overrated" Pac 10 that got them to the title game. Fight On 'SC !

The PAC-10 does suck. One of their teams even lost to UC DAVIS! LOL!

I agree, if USC had played a full Big-10 or SEC schedule they would have had at least 1 loss.

Sad to say that the PAC-10 doesn't quite hold a candle to the established football powerhouses back east in the Big 10, Big 12, ACC, and SEC, among other places. Back east has a lot more corn-fed players to recruit, and most of those won't go west.

The PAC-10 bowl wins where against unranked teams. UCLA beat Northwestern starting the second quarter down 22-7, Cal beat BYU, and Arizona State beat Rutgers, both nail bitters. The PAC-10 losses where by there two top ten teams and lost to the BIG 12. (#6 Oregon lost to unranked Oklahoma, #1 USC lost to #2 Texas)

This pains me to admit it, but its true. Oregon lost to a rebuilding Oklahoma and Texas took down USC. The Big 12 is a much stronger conference and I'd also put the Big 10 and SEC ahead of the Pac-10.
