If you haven't had a Koegel hotdog you haven't had a hotdog. They have them in Michigan and they are the best!!!! Great wrapped in a piece of Spatz Bread...another Michigan great....ahhh the memories of good food.

The ultimate All American fast food. It goes well with several cold beers and a ball game on the side, best enjoyed with several friends.

I was never a big fan of the processed meats. I probably eat hot dogs once every two years - if not less.

Have to have sauerkraut and mustard. That may be the way they do the franfurter in Frankfurt. Nathan's is my brand of choice - definitely better than the big national marks - and they stick out both sides of the bun! Agree this really doesn't qualify as homemade, unless you stuffed the sausage yourself!

Ketchup? (spits a bit) Mustard, relish, and enough onion to knock out the weak hearted...

Love these too. A friend's mother made them one time (Hebrew National) and those things didn't even fit in the buns. I really like ketchup on mine and a little bit of relish.

More of a ballpark, backyard BBQ or boardwalk treat than a "home cooking" classic.

I like the ones from the hot dog stands but they repeat on me something fierce. Used to have one stand in Toronto (Johnny's Top Dog) that used to serve these kickass stewed onions on their dogs but the health board shut them down. I used to like ketchup, relish etc. on the classic ballpark dog but someone suggested I try just a little mustard - it's all I'll have now.

All beef, with mustard and raw onions! Horseradish is good too.

Got to be in the mood for hotdogs. Some brands are nasty. I like Koegel the best. dressed just right they can be okay.

Properly cooked and dressed, tubesteak can be a very tasty and quick meal to prepare. Use a quality dog (Hebrew National makes a good one), good bread, and fresh veggies to get the most out of it. :)

Have to have jalepenos on them now, with brown mustard, onions, and tomato. Never should have tried one in Chicago!
