I know that sex is important in any relationship but I don't really understand myself yet why it can make or break people.  My husband and I have an average sex life but there are times that I think I could stop having sex and just be with him because of other qualities that he posesses.  I used to think it made me a bad wife or a weirdo but I've talked to more and more people and it seems pretty common place, especially with young girls and women.

Although possible; I'm not going to assume that every person who claims to be asexual, was a victim of child abuse. Most asexuals claim that they had no abuse and a "normal" relationship with at least 1 parent and an extended family unit. It's usually just a hormonal thing; nothing more.
