it is a good game and it has some good music

I've finally seen it first hand (because it is now in my house!). I seriously doubt anyone will be inspired and become a great, or good, or competant guitarist because the played Guitar Hero, or Rock Band (the variant that is now in my house!).  But millions of young teen boys will learn to strap on a thing that looks like a guitar and stand like a rock star and bob their heads to simple thumping music.  And that's really the point, isn't it.  It's for people who don't have enough imagination to play air guitar.

I'm sure they're working on this, but if guitar hero actually ever transitions into teaching people how to play a _real_ guitar in as fun a way, they'll have struck gold. Also, if they add the ability to map any song from your own library that would be sweet (I think they're working on this too, check out the game Phase for the iPod Classic, new Nano and 5g). Otherwise I'll probably never play this except if a friend has it. I'm too busy learning drums (not rock band...for real) :D!

For the stoner who can't play a real instrument

Lots of people really enjoy this game -- I think it has to do with the music and especially the unique controller. I played PaRappa the Rapper and it isn't nearly as fun hitting buttons on the regular controller.

The concept is cool, but the song selection just isn't there to make me really want to play it. There are maybe three or four songs in Guitar Hero III that I like, and I'm not sure if there are any in the previous games.

GOTTA LOVE GUITAR HERO. Not as good as DDR, but I still love it.

Great fun, I'm sure... but a bit one-dimensional, and not a patch on the real thing

When this game first came out I thought it would really suck and that no one would like it!!!!!.......until.................I Playedit!!!! This is probably the funnest game iv ever played, especialy with a group of people! GREAT GAME!!

one of the greatest games ever made for playstation or any other game consol. Very interactive and uses a lot of the same fingers you would use to play the songs on a REAL guitar.
