I have a 1996 Gibson SG '61 reissue and have loved it since the first time I saw it. It plays like heaven, has killer tones, is very versatile, and is absolutely gorgeous. If I ever buy another Gibson, it will probably be the new SG with the maestro tremolo.

I just made a transition from a fender to an SG. It has some edgy felling to it. Ive been playing for a long time and nothing ive ever played compares to the Gibson SG. SG KICKS ASS!!!

A good guitar, a lot lighter than than the Les Paul (a Les Paul on a diet, like Fred Conway said; that was great). I have played a Gibson SG in the past and enjoyed it and own a copy now.

I have been playing guitar for 3 years and I'd have to say the SG is rockin'! I own a 2003 Gibson SG Standard in Cherry Red. The sound is pretty good, (humbuckers are the way to go!!!) and who could resist the devil horns hmmm? I mean how could it be any better? The SG is superb and it's pretty much a Les Paul on a diet! and for $1000.00 you can't beat that price!

Being an SG player myself, I think it's an awesome guitar, I own a '99 Gibson SG Supreme in Fireburst with P-90A pickups, a 1968 Gibson SG Standard and a Custom Shop Gibson EDS-1275 in Alpine White with 3 pickups. They have great sound(I like to compare them with my Les Pauls') but some of the models are overpriced(Like the Supreme which is pretty much a Standard with the AA Maple Finish and better pickups). Overall, a pretty good guitar.
