I guess he's a born again Christian nowadays from what I've read. Quaye was a session guitarist from The West Indies who put out an obscure psychedelic track, "Baby Your Phrasing Is Bad," a single from '67 with a good feel to it, impressive effects, especially some great phasing, and droning vocals. He also performed in an obscure early 70's act named Hookfoot that I've never heard, so no idea as to it's quality. But he is far and away best known for his often interesting work on early Elton John albums, and his best playing IMO can be found on what I regard as easily John's best album, Tumbleweed Connection from late 1970, especially on tracks like "Amoreena," "Ballad of a Well Known Gun" or "Where to Now, St. Peter?," amongst others. Very fluid, slightly bluesy/ country tinged stuff, and a very professional style, no guitar theatrics, just solid playing that fits the songs well.
