Some episodes are better than others. Lately, they seem to be catering to a an entertainment quality that is less informative, probably to compete with the Art Bells and History Channels of the world that have reduced history and science to the level of a tabloid.

Their documentaries are some the best chronicles ever recorded on tape. I've learned so much about our world because of the show, and in my eary days, I was also known to have a select stash of their magazines.
