The idea that some had that this team could play defense was a little off.

The defense was horrendous that year. They let Fresno State, Notre Dane, Arizona State, and Texas make thos games interesting. If 2005 USC had 2004 USC's defense, those games would probably be a blow out. Except the Texas game.
