That restaurant is probably either Munchen Haus or King Ludwig's. The Bavarian-themed building code is in fact so strict that places like McDonalds, Howard Johnson Inn, local gas stations and basically any new business have all been held to it. Leavenworth is a great place for summer camping/rafting trips on the nearby Wenatchee River. It is also worth seeing for its Oktoberfest celebration when ample amounts of the ale and lager flow freely.

Leavenworth is a very charming little town in the Cascade Mountains at the end of Stevens Pass. A nice day trip from Seattle, this town once struggling with the timber industry decided to give itself a Bavarian Makeover. Nearly every building in town has Bavarian archetecture to give the appearnece of being somewhere in the Alps. I wish I could remember the name of the place but there is a joint in this town that serves up German food and has a nice beer garden. Leavenworth is particularly enchanting during the Christmas holiday season.
