I had the pleasure of talking to Kaye Lani in Chicago at Mike Ditka's restaurant in 1988. She impressed me a being a very intelligent and a sincere individual (during her live interview with Wally Phillips, WGN Radio, held during lunch hour at Ditka's). I don't think I've ever looked into a woman's eyes that had as much sparkle as Kaye Lani's - I was mesmerized!

I went to school with her when I was fourteen years old and I remember hanging out with my friends at a school carnival and wondering how she could walk around the carnival in her pageant dress since you couldn't have paid me to be seen in anything but jeans. She clearly had higher goals even then but never acted conceited and always had the thickest long hair and I remember noticing how tall she seemed with some of her small friends. She was such a good person she didn't seem real but was always gracious to everyone. She had even said she was going to become a nunn so I'm not surprized she ended up being a nurse. I was glad to see someone of substance win.

All I remember is seeing her in Michael Moore's documentary "Roger and Me". She was riding in a parade in Flint Michigan. Michael interviewed her, sarcasticly, for comedic value, trying to make her look stupid and oblivious to the economic problems going on around her in the city of Flint with General Motors.
