I remember the ad clips for this during the 70s, but I never saw it. Finally got around to renting it recently, and it was more interesting than I expected. Basically, the guy dies due to a clerical error in Heaven, so he gets to go back to finish his karmic purpose on earth, but as another person. Thing is, he had been a quarterback getting his big break, and he's not ready to give up that dream even though he's in the body of a sleazoid CEO ready to sacrifice the kids in a small town in England for profit, and who was to be the murder victim of a plot by his wife and lover. Some hilarious moments by the straight face of Warren Beatty, who tries to sort out his new life simultaneously with his old. Sounds dumb, but it's really delivered well.
