very good movie. this was a big issue in the late 60s. a well to do white couple learn their daughter is engaged to a black man. she brings him home for dinner. the movie shows the reactions of the gals parents and later the man's parents when they learn of the intended marriage. very good cast with Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Sidney Poitier, make this movie enjoyable and believable. Spencer Tracy and Sidney Poitier both have good roles. Poitier as a briliant doctor who loves a white woman.a lot of funny parts.

One of the more stellar casts of all time as two merging families attempt to metabolize the racism that could keep them apart. This was Spencer Tracy's last performance, and Hepburn's tearful performance towards the end was reportedly not a performance at all. All about romance, race relations, liberal hypocricy, and the clash of enormous personalities.
