A classic 60s film about the search for meaning and purpose in sexual liasons with an older married woman, culminating in a finale that is both transgressive and innocent. Made Dustin Hoffman famous, as well as Simon and Garfunkle who showcased some of their best songs for the score. Mostly, the lovely Anne Bancroft, whom I'd bed over Katherine Ross any day of the week! Anecdote: When Roger Ebert was asked which review he'd take back if he could, he referenced his review of the Graduate in which he said that he liked the movie except for its "completely forgettable music score" by a "folk duo who will fade into oblivion," or something like that.
