Lilies of the Field is a terrific movie. very nice about a handyman played by Sidney Poitier.he ends up in this small town near a small convent. the nun who is the head of the convent hires him to fix things around the convent. this is a very poor convent and they do not even have a chapel. the fiesty nun tries to convince Homer to "build them a chapel" the nuns came from europe and are trying to learn english.homer helps them with the English and in the end helps them along with the townsfolk build them a chapel. Homer and the fiesty nun do not see eye to eye at times but in the end she is sad to leave him leave. Sidney Poitier is very good and won an oscar for his role in this small wonderful movie.

Actually, this really isn't a chick movie. And it's one of the best movies ever made, imo.
