Somewhat irrelevant in today's society... in most places

My grandmother used to say this to me before I went to bed. As a relatively pampered middle-class kid, I never saw a bed bug in my life. She, on the other hand, had been desperately poor in NY, Hoboken and Jersey City, and had survived the Depression with 3 kids and a sick husband. Bed bugs were probably the least of the things she had to worry about in life.

No. Invest in some insecticide.

Yuk.I think I'll keep my bug spray with me from now on when I go to bed.

The reality is, there really are bed bugs... microscopic ones as a matter of fact. I doubt any of us would want to see what they really look like. Sometimes ignorance can be the greatest bliss.

It's a cute saying. I don't think we should use this with children. They may never want to go to sleep.
