 | GenghisTheHun (177) 08/09/2006 | The differences between the Italian gangsters and these pathethic, pipsqueak gangsta types is manifest to anyone with half a brain, but let me elucidate a few.
The Italian tries to be discreet--the gangsta broadcasts.
The Italian, even with an accent, tries to be understood in language--the gangsta talks as if suffering from brain damage or at least a defect.
The Italian dresses and acts with pride, style and a certain panache--the gangsta appears to have slept in and gathered wearing apparel from a land fill.
The Italian thinks to better his family and progeny--who knows what the gangsta thinks in this area.
If that is "be racist yo," I plead "guilty, your honor."
UPDATE TO NUMBAH: Ah, yes, I agree. I and my two constant companions, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson, who nestle in a Model 57, N frame, .41 magnum handgun, are accurate out to 100 yards, (and we do practice a lot!)

 | kamylienne (80) 08/08/2006 | Ugh. So far, anyone who has ever called themselves a "gangsta" has brought to mind one term:
"Poser".
I hate seeing suburban kids try to play this role, saying they're from the "hood", who go around with their hat askew, walking with what appears to be a limp and having half of their oversized t-shirt hanging out, wearing fake gold chains . . . and they go home to one of the most uptight and upscale part of town. I'm not saying they should go all Abercrombie and Fitch, but what's so bad about acting like yourself?

 | HistoryFan (100) 08/08/2006 | Wow......a subgenre of (c)rap that glorifies crime! NEATO! (note the sarcasm)
When I think of the word gangster, I think of someone from the mafia like Al Capone or any seedy character played by Edward G. Robinson.
Now it's about being in criminal gang groups and stuff. Gangsta's paradise, my foot!
