Black Forest (Germany) 5

Drove through the Schwarzwald once, years ago, and can still kick myself for not having stopped at one of the many roadside shops that sold cuckoo clocks. A very interesting ride through the forest, and through some of the spa towns in it. Another place I'd recommentd highly for at least a brief visit.

Black Forest (Germany) 5

This area is a picturesque wooded mountain range area in southwest Germany in Baden-Wurttemberg. It forms part of the continental divide in Europe. To the west water flows to the Atlantic; to the east, it flows to the Black Sea. This is where the Danube starts. This area is full of spas, and picturesque localities. It is famed also for its cuckoo clocks and the Black Forest Cake. It gets is name from the black color of the everygreens when seen from a distance, similar to the Black Hills in the USA.
