It's been great to be able to go to the site as a reference for almost anything from by-gone days. If my kids are curious about what a particular television show was like from the far distant past (Get Smart, Monty Python), 90% of the time there are a couple of examples of it on YouTube.

If I'm trying to recall a bit of news or a documentary I saw, a lot of times its there. Want to sample a musical artist in concert before you shell out for tickets - Youtube.

A couple of weeks ago the mandolin orchestra that that my wife plays in accompanied a Ukranian Dance troupe. She came home and told us about one particularly clever piece that the company did. A couple of days later, someone from the dance company had posted a video of it on YouTube.

I am using YouTube to listen to my favorite music. I search for the band I want to listen to and then click on Playlist. It shows different playlists created by youtube users. Playlists include videos from the band you searched for. Sometimes playlists include videos that have nothing to be with the band, the music gender or even music, so you have to do a little research before you pick the playlist.

I just searched for the band Keane, on the result page I clicked on Playlist and I found this one with Keane and Coldplay videos.

It's a good improvement over Pandora Radio because here you have more control over what you listen to

Ever since I had an account on YouTube, the quality of the site just went down the drain quickly. Many videos posted on the site are complete garbage. I'm sick and tired of going on youtube and coming across a video which promotes hatred and/or lies. There are numerous people on the site that not even a madman could stand. Many videos on YouTube promote complete false messages including nationalist ideologies, people saying the USA will fall apart (the worst of them all) as well as conspiracy theories that hold no water. Many good videos on YouTube are either being removed or having their audio removed due to copyright claims. The only reason YouTube is hanging on by a thread is because of a lot of good people I came across there.

I recently discovered the turn down the lights function. I really appreciate this because my eyes are very sensitive to the sun and whites. Its not available on all videos though.

A fantastic site! So many videos to watch, some of which are rare and hard to find anywhere else, all of which can keep you entertained for hours. It's great that you can have your own channel and share your favourite clips, but there is a huge downside. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, the smutty, downright abusive comments left on some/or most of these videos is a real turn off. There is arguing back and forth between users, insults hurled, and very rarely any intelligent debates about what they are viewing. A lot of comments are completely so off topic, that they are moronic. Oh well, in the internet age, it has come to be expected. Sadly.

I love this site. It is very fun and even useful. The only complaint I have is some people leave really nasty comments about other people or videos. That needs to be changed.

This is great site that allows to post videos online. There are really funny and interesting videos there and all but some are really annoying.

While you tube is now crammed packed with smut and degenerate filth it remains the premiere website for video hosting. It is, all things considered, a wonderful site. Adult content filters ensure that minors do not see anything that they shouldn't see and dedicated channels make it easy to find lots of content on a specific topic. Up loading your own content is especially easy, fast and simple. The only restriction is that the video not be longer than ten minutes. You can get around this limitation by applying for 'director' status.

you tube is fun to visit. It is amazing what is posted on there. I like to watch certain youtube things that are funny. like animals for example. we even got the chance to see a tv show someone added from the night before. not sure if they were supposed to but it was there. you can find quite a bit of videos. some personal stuff that can be interesting. i have not seen them but some can even be pretty bad. like the girls who filmed themselves beating up another girl and posting it. of course that back fired and they were arrested{good!} i have fun for the most part watching the you tube videos.

A useful site and can certainly follow your nose and waste time on this site. I wish the video were just a little better. Would improve my experience.

YouTube loses a star for not fighting harder for user data privacy in the viacom lawsuit. Otherwise it's a great place to waste some time on the internet. I think with the advent of Hulu and places that are legitimate tv outlets maybe YouTube can get back to the roots of UCC.

too bad about all the controversy as of late. but it was bound to happen sooner or later. now everyone is jumping on the litigation band wagon because of it.

I hate all that video blogging crap as well as the wannabe internet celeberty post. But I love watching music videos and interviews with my favorite artist.

One of the first sites to offer no-signup, Flash based video that was embeddable via widget into other people's blogs and websites. Quickly came to dominate internet video. A great service considering that Google pays for all the bandwidth.

There is a lot of great stuff to be found on YouTube, but it loses a star for the overwhelming amount of crap that accompanies the good stuff.

For a fight fan like me, YouTube is a dream come true. I've caught up on some fights that I saw years ago, and others that I have never seen.

Mixed bag, and a lot of really tediously unfunny juvenile stuff on there.

I visit occasionally, usually if someone directs me there to view a specific item, but its nothing I can spend time surfing on.  When I do that I quickly develop the urge to horsewhip teenage boys.

I'm fairly new to YouTube, and don't watch it with any regularity, but have come across some impressive videos-- Jimi Hendrix at Monterrey and Woodstock, the Stooges at Cincinnati, Arthur Lee's Love, Anita O'Day at the Newport Jazz festival, portions of interviews and documentaries, even a video of someone driving past the house in Kansas where the Clutter murders occurred, or a video at the cemetery outside of Pittsburgh where they filmed "Night of the Living Dead". As someone else mentioned, there's a lot of crap on YouTube as well...adolescents functioning under the misguided notion that their antics are hysterical, for the most part. But, if you can separate the dross from the gold, YouTube can be entertaining, informative, and enlightening.

Youtube dosen't deal with the copyright things...the companies do..besides the spam and racist comments it's awsome.

YouTube is good for watching videos. But when it came to uplaoding my own videos, I found the website absolutely terrible! It really was poor, the forms didn't function, my settings wouldn't update and kept getting lost (such as updating channel info or personal details), and the helpdesk was rankly pitiful. Even setitng upa new account hit me with another barrage of problems. Really is a terrible website for any aspiring video maker.

I love visiting YouTube. The content is so varied I could lose hours watching clips.

I've recently discovered youtube.com and it's been interesting checking it out these past few months. While the site's only been around for about a year, already over 35,000 new videos are uploaded daily and 30 million clips are watched each day. It's viewership is said to be in the millions, so as a new, free site it's quite impressive. Most clips run an average of several minutes, but I've even watched films on it which run over an hour long. Although I find the overall quality to be outstanding, one area in which the website could improve might be to offer a larger screen option, one that wouldn't compromise visual quality. Other than that, I've really got to hand it to the creators of youtube - great job.
