This is a perfect example of what the battle at Stalingrad consisted of. Distructed buidlings with this concrete bases still intact became excellent defense positions, for both the Soviets and the Germans. A person can clearly see the true destruction of the battle in the backround, what seems to show an entire apartment conplex completely destroyed.
