Our trained tasters, who visited two locations from each company, spill the beans below (prices are an average of what we paid for the closest thing to a medium cup).

McDonald's, $1.35, was decent and moderately strong. Although it lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws.

Burger King, $1.40, looked like coffee but tasted more like hot water. It was a little sour, with an unusual hint of chocolate.

I definitely understand caffeine addiction, but coffee is just awful, whether it's Starbucks or just the cheap instant crap my parents drink. Even if I really want some caffeine, and coffee is the only available source, I'll do without.

They may smell good but many other coffee chains are better than the Starbucks.

I'm a certified coffee junkie. I drink it daily, lots of it, and have done for many years.

But this stuff is awful. Over-roasted swill sold to the unsuspecting or ignorant.

I hate the way they roast - everything is almost burnt.

I shun the trendy coffee house propaganda...

Like it, can't always afford it. I prefer to make my own pot of coffee at home.

Coffee's bad for you, but if I had to pick my favorite, it would be Starbuck's.

Just today I went into Starbucks with my wife, and easily refrained from ordering anything. I will admit that I love their Frapuccinos, but I can very easily say no to them.

Frappaccino Mocha flaver, Wum, Fix in crushed ice and you have a drink you can relax with no alcohol. this is an exelant drink in the morning or evnings, i you have a wait problem dont drink too much it is fatning.
