This is def my new favorite chew. I started on beechnut which was okay, then went to RM golden blend and stuck with that but beechnut was a little too bland and golden blend was a little too sweet with many stems. Southern Pride is pretty cheap, and the perfect mix of sweetness. Tastes like raisins a little bit. I found one stem in the last bag i bought. Great chew. Worth Trying.

Okay so I picked up some Southern Pride today because it was on my list of chew to try. Over all, it’s not a total waste of money, but it does have a few rough points. Now the bag says that *and I quote* “If you like Levi Garret, try this.” I say if you like Levi Garret then you might not be into the raisin flavored chews that are out there. I know I’m not. I would say Southern Pride isn’t as close to what they’re trying to market it as as they would like you to think. The initial taste is that of a raisin flavored chew that they try to mask over with some cheap syrup recipe. It’s a low end chew so obviously they skimped on the process time it takes to get the leaf to soak in all that tasty good stuff. That would be why there’s a bit of a bitter after taste at the end. Kind of reminded me more of a Redman Gold Blend only not as sweet. Personally I don’t really like Levi Garret that much. I think it lacks a wee bit in taste. I think they use a bit too much of good ol’ fashion sugar in t... Read more

I'm surprised at the taste and juice that Southern Pride produces. Its sweet, but not like chewing on molasses covered rasins, as with some other brands. I really enjoy it and plan to buy more. The zip-lock type package is great for keeping it fresh!

I give southern pride 4 stars, is a little sticky and some stems but nothing too bad. I would choose this over red man original, and you cant beat the price. I can get it for 2.29

I love the chew but cant afford it anymore so I had to quit. If it would stay around three dollars a pack I might start back but im on disability just enough to pay the bills. Come on now, bring the price down.

i'll give it 3 stars because every bag ive chewed was really good. but sub-consciously, i feel like a bum if i dont dip the top quality brands so i rate it a 3 because im a shallow prick.

I usually dip, but I like to chew from time to time so as to keep my nicotine tolerence down. Got this for a road trip from Omaha, Nebraska to St. Louis and was disapointed. Taste was bitter and it contained a lot of stems and sharp ends that poked my lips. Red Man has a much better flavor, not too sweet, but not bitter either. Beech Nut is far too sweet for my taste, a lot like Raisins. It's fun for a little while, but it gets old fast. I recommend Red Man over Southern Pride any day.

Good chew for a great price, tends to be real sticky but it has a good taste for an even better price!
