I don't know about messing with the future, but I'd love to go back in time just to observe. There are countless historical events I'd like to go back and see, so many I don't even know where to start. Seeing Babe Ruth hit number 60 springs to mind, and sitting with others and watching man walk on the moon for the first time. I wouldn't even mind going back to my own childhood and just walking around my old neighborhood.

Where would you find the time to time travel?

There are so many fun things you can do with this. You can go back to visit a deceased relative, or find out about your heritage. Or you can go forward in time to learn the new tech and come back to produce it. However, if everyone possesses this skill then the world would be in chaos.

Certainly not to change anything, but to see some things.

The hand of the immortal Michaelangelo at work....

The first performance of "The Magic Flute" and "Rite of Spring".....

To hear the musings of W.B. Yeats and T.S. Eliot in person... and chat with Lawrence Sterne and William Faulkner....

See the Negro League legends like Bell, and Gibson and Paige and Leonard play...

See Babe Ruth and Ted Williams and Ty Cobb and Joe Jackson hit; see Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson and Grover Alexander and Lefty Grove pitch, and have a beer with John McGraw....

To visit the monastery of Lindisfarne at the peak of its fame...

To speak with, (or rather listen to) the words of Averroes, Gauss, Sun Tzu, St. Augustine, Newton and the like...

To meet Pearse and Connolly and stand for a moment in the doomed post office in Dublin in Easter 1916...

There are others, but that will do for now....

Time travel is such an interesting concept...I would love to be able to travel back in time, to another era or a specific moment in time that altered our world as we know it forever. I think most people are fascinated by dinosaurs, as the giant beasts once ruled the world, and yet we've only been eyewitnesses to their fossilized remains. I would love to see them! I also think it would be interesting to travel back in time, when certain events took place. Not to alter the past, but to know the truth of what really happened. The possibilities are endless when it comes to where one could go, and what one could do...But, should humanity play around with pandora's box if perchance it should ever be opened? Probably not.

No way! Once you did that everything that you do would change the future! Very bad!

I'd only accept travels to the past. I've a long list of persons whose faces and figures I'd like to see, and a long list of persons with riddles in their lives I'd like to solve. Principially Jesus is on the top of both lists, but in his case I'd find it difficult to yield to my desire of finding out "how it really was". Else I go with Vudija.

Four stars only, because I'd have to be prepared for seeing horrible things.

I think if I could travel through time I'd like to go back to the 1800s. It just seems like it would have been an interesting era.

I don't think I'd want to change anything, just because I happen to believe that everything happens for a reason. Our pasts shape who we are today, and I don't think I'd want to be any other way...but I wouldn't mind going back to see people I haven't seen in years, or being present during crucial events (just to watch, of course).

I'd take a bunch of modern technology with me and take over... ALMOST FORGOT: I'd also check out Helen of Troy and see how she measures up to Jessica Alba...

I'd like to go back and act differently in certain situations and possibly change outcomes.

I would love to visit the time period of the first settlers. Since I lived somewhat of it when in the mountains and loved it so much, I almost feel like if I wasn't here now, it would be next best choice. Of course I do realize that what I experienced was no where near as dramatic as what they did.

I would like to see what the Middle Ages (England/Europe) were really like. However, I would only want to be an observer into that time and not actually mix and mingle. I think if the people then ever got a load of someone from our century - regardless of how innocuous we might seem to each other – that person would soon be declared a witch and turned into a crispy critter.

I'm an old soul, so I would probably go back to learn anything that our history(any history) missed on.

I would go back to 11/22/1963 in Dallas, Texas to SEE (not stop) the assassination of JFK and if Lee Harvey Oswald actually did the shooting. Can't change history and wouldn't want to try because you just don't know what that would do to their future or our past. It can drive you crazy thinking about this stuff.

As long as I can return to now....I would have a blast. I would like to visit the past. I was facinated in South France with the roman ruins and old castles and monestaries.

If I were to travel through time I think I would prefer to go to the future. History teaches us about the past, but we have very little concept of what the future holds.

Are we talking in any direction? I think it'd be cool to see the future in some ways, but it'd be even cooler to see the past, because you'd see what things we take for granted now a days.

Time travel is one of my favorite fantasies.I think I'd probably spend years just going to great concerts- you could hear Jimi Hendrix then go back a few centuries and catch Robert Johnson,Charlie Patton,Son House...Then there's the historical intrigue, was Cleopatra fine or not? How exactly DID they build the pyramids? Stonehenge? You could hang out with Buddha and Jesus, then go to a celebration of the Goddess Bastet (sure to be a blast!).You could also meet Kerouac, and have a drink with him and Billy Burroughs-too cool!

I would definitely go BACK in time. Going the other way would be terrifying. I would go back to the frontier days when men were men girls were girls, or at least back to the 70's so I could fix some things that Im still feeling the backlash from.

"I'd go back to 1982. If coach would've put me in 4th quarter, we'd have been state champions, I just know it. I tell ya if coach would've put me in 4th quarter things woulda been different. I'da gone pro, and I'd be soaking it up, living up in the mountains somewhere, with my sweetheart."

I would love to see history unfold right before my eyes. Then I would like to go back and see my ancestors when they were alive. As long as we couldn't tamper with events and the way they happened, time travel could be very educational. We could find out what really happened in the past--just in case historians were'nt accurate or fudeged on the truth.
