As initials for John, Jr. or James Jared, OK. Standing by themselves like the "S." in Harry S. Truman, not OK.

Just J.J. would be a headache for the child. they would always be asked what does J.J. stand for? they could go by the nickname J.J. I know someone way back in high school who did. but he really would benefit by two actual names that begin with J.

Fine as a nickname.. bad as a legal name.

I'm J.J. to certain friends, and I like hearing it. I think it sounds like a boxer's name or something.

No for 2 reasons. 1) I don't care for initials. Like you said wavebacker...its a cop-out. 2) I am not a Duke fan whatsoever, and cannot stand JJ Reddick. I also can't stand the name Shelden for that reason.

J.J. can be defined as John Jr. Or just Jay Jay or the letters J.J.. Kind of a cop out name, like you could'nt come up with anything so you did this. J.J. is cool , but as an adult, I dont think you want to be a J.J.. By adulthood, he could be John Jr.
