A good solid name. And not that common. There aren't many Georges floating around contemporarily so it won't be overdone or pedestrian. George would be a worthy name for a boy to carry around for the next 80+ years.

George is just stiff and boring to me. You could make the name more fun by calling the kid Jorge at times, but its not a nickname you can take seriously.

The name of many kings, our first President, and usually does not lend itself to a nick name.
