I've always like the name Benjamin. My brother and I had a friend by this name when we were in elementary school. I think one of its appeals, is that it's not entirely over-used. I'd try to avoid names that are too common, because I had to suffer through classes with multiple girls who had my name. It's got really confusing and really tired after awhile.

Not a bad name. And with this one you can hold hope out for the following unlikely scenario to unfold: Your son grows up and falls in love with a beautiful young African-American woman and, unfortunately, her parents disapprove. They would prefer that she build a life with a black man despite the fact that your son is educated, successful, handsome and has behaved faultlessly politely to her mother and father. As the engagement progresses and the wedding day draws nearer, the bride's mother who grows increasingly desperate/anxious about the situation, begins to question her daughter about her affection and loyalty for your son. After answering an exhaustive two hours of inquiries, none of which seem to satisfy her mother, your future daughter-in-law simply explains to her mother that she is " ... all about the Benjamins."

I like Benjamin. It was at the top of the list when we were picking names for our son. it is a good strong name and you can get other nicknames if you wish.

Wish it were my name. It's a good, solid name which can't be chopped up into smaller, more indiscernible verions (except Benny, but that's easily avoided). He'll thank you when he's an adult.
