 | fitman (45) 07/09/2008 | Only if the audience was so tightly packed there'd be no danger of landing on the floor.
BTW,
Iggy did it first...

 | edt4 (106) 07/09/2008 | I never saw this being done until the last Ramones concert I ever attended, which was at the Ritz theatre in NY sometime during the early 90's I guess. I had been going to rock concerts since my teen years; I had seen bottles being thrown, fireworks being exploded, fights breaking out, people vomiting and/or comatose in the aisles, but I had never seen people mounting a stage while the band was still playing and flinging themselves into the audience. There was also a "mosh pit" in front of the stage, with people slamming into each other with what looked like monumental force. Thankfully, my friends and I were up in a balcony (one of my friends, who had once been involved in a botched armed robbery, looked at the kids in the pit, shook his head, and said, "If somebody slammed into me like that, I'd punch them in the head. They enjoy that kind of shite? That's fun to them?"), and I spent more time studying people from the audience than I did listening to the band (the opening act was the "Lunachicks"). I wasn't all that old, but I came to the conclusion that I had reached a point in my life where I was too old to attend rock concerts. I've sort of stuck to that promise over the years. Since that time, I've only seen Frank Sinatra and the Gypsy Kings in concert. Needless to say, nobody was throwing themselves off the stage at those concerts.

 | irishgit (146) 07/08/2008 | While I may be a fifty something professional Irishman with a tendency to occasional unruly behavior, this activity just isn't my style.

 | oscargamblesfro (80) 07/08/2008 | It's ok if you're 21 but not if you're 35, 45, 55, etc...The only way I would do this is simply to be a total prick at a , say, Phillip Glass performance.

 | lmorovan (15) 07/08/2008 | As long as my friends are on the receiving side, yes. Otherwise, I would probably need to be drunk enough as to not know what I am doing.

 | kamylienne (78) 04/02/2006 | I am highly subject to Murphy's Law, and I'm fairly certain that, even if every other person before me is caught and safely handed around, I'd be the one who wouldn't be caught. And though I'm a fairly tough specimen, it's still not a good thought to be trampled upon.

 | Underspin (24) 03/20/2006 | This ain't a big deal assumming the audience doesn't run for cover in the midst of the person diving (yes, this has actually happened!)....however, if the diver has steel-toe boots on, they kinda deserve it anyway...

 | DumbBlondeCowgirl (23) 03/18/2006 | Probably not anymore. I used to be more adventurous when I was 22. I'm not 22 anymore.

 | Tiffany1986 (32) 02/13/2006 | I've always wanted to do this but unfortunately we don't get a lot of concerts through my area. Never had the opportunity but one of these days...

 | Vudija (94) 02/11/2006 | No! 1) I don't feel like being groped by complete strangers and 2) I wouldn't trust them enough to keep me from falling in the first place.

 | Djahuti (56) 02/09/2006 | Maybe 10 or 15 years ago, maybe not.I was a well into my 30s when the whole "stage diving/crowd surfing" thing became a fad.I have had people land on me,and if you're not expecting it it can be pretty painful! This happened to me at a Lollapalooza when I ended up in the mosh pit while Alice in Chains was playing. It was worth it though, they put on a tremendous show that night!

 | Bird808 (53) 02/09/2006 | The only reason why I wouldn't do it is because I'm afraid I might hurt someone.

 | SZinHonshu (44) 02/08/2006 | Yes, so long as it was an audience comprised of scantily clad young Asian and Latin women of suspect moral character (who had been drinking).
